Visa expands Africa credit access via _able and Onafriq infrastructure
Visa is partnering with credit infrastructure provider _able and African fintech Onafriq to unlock credit for millions of bank account holders across Africa. A shift toward platform-based credit decisioning at the payments rail rather than siloed bank origination.
WHY IT MATTERS
Payments networks are pivoting toward embedded credit scoring; banks must now compete on execution, not gating. Sets precedent for other networks to replicate cross-border credit syndication.
