AI agents lack cryptographic identity; suppliers cannot distinguish legitimate from rogue procurement bots

When an AI agent autonomously queries suppliers, places orders, and routes payments, the supplier has no way to cryptographically verify the agent is real, authorized, and acting within permitted limits. This creates procurement fraud and authentication gaps that existing digital signature schemes don't solve.

WHY IT MATTERS

Banks and B2B platforms will need to issue agent credentials (similar to OAuth tokens) and anchor them to customer identity and transaction limits. New compliance burden and infrastructure layer.
